Wilton Manors Elementary

IB World School

Principal

As the Principal of Wilton Manors Elementary, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to be a member of this great school and community.  Wilton Manors Elementary enjoys a rich history of academic and cultural excellence that is the result of a collegial partnership between the school staff and parents who provide a diversity of experiences for the students. I am truly honored to be appointed to this position and am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational program for our students.

I myself am a graduate of the Broward County school system which provided me with an exemplary education and desire to ensure that all children are provided with the same opportunities that were afforded to me. I attended Florida Atlantic University for both my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees.  I began my teaching career as a 3rd grade teacher, reading intervention teacher, and ESE Specialist at Bethune Elementary in Hollywood.  In 2007 I became the Assistant Principal at Bennett Elementary in Ft. Lauderdale.  I was very successful in implementing programs that ensured the students at Bennett Elementary were meeting high standards and maintaining our “A” school grade.  While at Bennett, I was honored with the recognition of being an ACCLAIM finalist for Assistant Principal of the Year in both 2010 and 2011.  In 2010, I was selected to enter the Intern Principal Program. In 2011, I was transferred to North Fork Elementary in Ft. Lauderdale to serve as Intern Principal.  Although my time there was short, the wealth of knowledge I acquired is quite substantial and I am certain the students here at Wilton Manors will benefit from all of my experiences.

I whole heartedly believe in an open door policy.  The best way for Wilton Manors to thrive is for all stakeholders to work together and I encourage you to become a member of our family.

Educationally Yours,

Melissa Holtz, Principal
