The Hongkong Prize is one of the world’s premier writing competitions for authors who specialize in Asian culture and history. Winners receive monetary prizes as well as international exposure at an awards ceremony; however, due to its rigorous standards this contest can be difficult for participants. Therefore it’s imperative that anyone wanting to take part read all rules and regulations carefully before applying so as not to risk disqualification due to any misinterpretations of rules or disqualification from participating.

HK Prize is an award that honors individuals who promote world civilisation and inspire others towards building harmonious societies. Previous recipients have included social justice activists fighting for democracy in their home countries as well as volunteers providing shelter to homeless adults. Its logo features two precious items – a pearl and jade amulet – as a symbolic reminder that human spirit can triumph even under trying circumstances.

In order to qualify for the Hongkong Prize, applicants must submit a video essay outlining how technology has helped improve society and why their work stands out from others. Judges will assess your entry on its creativity, originality, and ability to convey ideas succinctly; please include details about your background including education and workplace experience in your video essay submission.

Participants looking to increase their odds of winning should apply early for the Hongkong Prize. The first round opens March 1, and is open to Southeast Asian residents, mainland Chinese nationals, and worldwide participants; second and third rounds will open later in 2018. To improve your chances, start visiting the World of Winners Splash Page beginning March 1. It features live countdown of eligible entries while giving tips about creating videos.

Alongside receiving a monetary prize, winners of the Hongkong Prize can also showcase their work at an awards ceremony and gain international recognition for it. By sharing their knowledge with the public and contributing to humanity’s progress through research and knowledge exchange, winners of this prize are also able to meet other scientists while networking among peers.

The Board of the Hongkong Prize serves as THE PRIZE’s highest decision-making body and is charged with suggesting important scientific research fields, appointing members to both Review Committee and Compliance Oversight Team, setting requirements for nominating experts, verifying and approving final review results as well as administering THE PRIZE with assistance from Secretariat.

The Hongkong Prize is an esteemed award that recognizes Asia’s finest scientific research and technological innovations. Established by the Bank of Hong Kong ten years ago, over 300 researchers from around the globe have received this coveted accolade since then. Winners for 2019 will be selected in three stages – first by Southeast Asian residents; then mainland Chinese nationals; and finally globally participating participants – before finally being announced in June.
